so my question is pretty much just to myself ...should I blog or not?
I think I'm getting back into the blog mood these days but I've decided that from now on I'm just gonna blog in english...it's easier and my thoughts come across way better in english than in Icelandic anyway :p
but I've been reading my Bible a lot lately...especially this weekend...and it's just been amazing...
And I was talking with a friend earlier tonight and I told her about this subject I'm writing my thoughts on and asked her to read over it ... she liked it but felt that I was perhaps starting in the wrong place. So we talked some more and I've put the writing on hold for now to gather my thoughts a little better ...
But I do want to put this out there ...
Psalm 119:9-16 says in the Message Bible (SO powerful!)
How can a young person live a clean life?
By carefully reading the map of your Word.
I'm single-minded in pursuit of you;
don't let me miss the road signs you've posted.
I've banked your promises in the vault of my heart
so I won't sin myself bankrupt.
Be blessed, God;
train me in your ways of wise living.
I'll transfer to my lips
all the counsel that comes from your mouth;
I delight far more in what you tell me about living
than in gathering a pile of riches.
I ponder every morsel of wisdom from you,
I attentively watch how you've done it.
I relish everything you've told me of life,
I won't forget a word of it.
I really really love verse 9 and especially the way it's written in the NIV
"How can a young man keep his way pure?
By living according to your word."
That is such a challenge to all of us. Being pure ... completely pure, it's hard to live a pure life in todays society where everyone expects you to do certain things and if you don't, you're weird.
Well... I prefer to be considered "weird" than going against God's word.
God's word is here for us to read, to guide us and for us to follow.
It's not always easy but it is possible. All things are possible with God on our side. Trying to live in our own strength however just brings disaster!

And knowing myself ... since I have a stack of "secular" books ... i'll probably read one of those as well... yes children, it takes talent to read that many books at the same time and absorb stuff from all of them! :) hehe
As a final thing on this wonderful short entry of mine... I just wanna say that I really really really really really really really really really really REAAAAAAAAAALLY LOVE!!!!! God...
He's amazing... I couldn't do anything without Him. I would be a pile of rubbish in a corner somewhere ... He satisfies my every need, provides for everything...gosh and just ... he loves me for exactly who I am...and that is enough for me! :)
